Put a date in your diary for October 10th when Manchester goes fashion crazy
The fash pack from style bible Vogue are descending on Manchester on October 10th. Fashion’s Night Out is a big life-affirming celebration of the city and even if we all go out and spend a tenner we’ll be helping support our shops.
Here are just some of the highlights of the we can look forward to...
Harvey Nichols Manchester will be celebrating Fashion’s Night Out as well as the store’s 10th birthday party from 6pm-10pm. There will also be an exclusive Q&A with Alexandra Shulman and Harvey Nichols Fashion Director, Paula Reed, at 9pm and Vogue T-shirt customisations by 10 of Harvey Nichols most-loved designers
The Selfridges yellow van parked in Exchange Square, with a surprise celebrity guest selling the official Fashion’s Night Out T-Shirts, keep a look out around the city for a Selfridges host giving out a gift card loaded with a mystery amount from £5 - £50 (while stocks last). Treats in store will also include a hair braiding and temporary tattoo pop up bar, pop up food cart serving everything from Vodka Snowcones to Crepes and mini Donuts while DJ Jameela Jamil will work the decks on level 3.
Head to Hugo Boss from 7.30pm once the VIP Launch Party has ended to hear a DJ set by fashion’s favourite, Princess Julia. Sip on a Remy Martin drink while Clym Evernden creates your very own fashion illustration to keep as an FNO memento. All this and gifts with womenswear purchases too. The store will be open until 10pm and selling the official Fashion’s Night Out t-shirts.
Mulberry welcomes guests for champagne and canapés as they browse the new collection. There’ll be a live music act and Essie manicures during the evening.
House of Fraser will mark the completion of its fabulous new shoe, accessory and womenswear departments with an evening of Fashion’s Night Out fun and exclusive offers. Cicchetti will change its name and menu. The restaurant will be hosted by celebrity chef Aldo Zilli, who will be serving up a menu of personally crafted, suitably fashionable and limited edition Fashion’s Night Out dishes. Hervia Bazaar’s designer Emporium is opening its doors for Fashion’s Night Out to an evening of designers, street food and cocktails, in association with Yang Sing, Whitley Neill Gin, Tsingtao Beer and Tequila Rose. There will also be a chance to win a £500 fashion, food and drinks prize.
Hobbs will have a customised London black cab parked outside the front of their store, full of lots of lovely product to give away. Each shopper who visits the store on the night will receive a ticket and at eight o’clock, a number will be drawn and the winner will get a ride home with the goodies.
Dune Manchester Arndale presents a live illustrator in store sketching the event, in association with Scriberia. Shoppers will receive an exclusive Dune tote bag personalised with their very own illustration when spending £100 or more. Flannels Spinningfields will host an exclusive evening with Manchester-born designer Matthew Williamson. Guests will get the opportunity to meet the famed designer and chat to him about his AW13 collection.

Vogue’s Executive Retail Editor, Ginnie Chadwyck-Healey will be sharing the A/W trends, along with her favourite styles that will fashionably see you through the season. Nails Inc will be on hand providing mini manicures in the must-have new season shades.
Celebrate with Reiss at their Shambles store in the city where there will be a guest DJ, cocktails from The Alchemist plus hair styling by Trevor Sorbie. An exclusive brand collaboration will be seen for the first time in Vivienne Westwood’s flagship for the North on Spring Gardens, at the top of King Street.
