Each month Living Edge finds out your recommendations of places to wine and dine. For December it's the turn of Penny English who owns See Saw lingerie in Hale.

Penny English took over See
Saw, the family lingerie
business four years ago and
has cultivated a loyal
customer base due to the
professional friendly service people find
there. She must be doing it right, as the
shop itself will be celebrating its 20th
birthday in 2011. She says Hale is a
great place for business and socialising
as it has such a varied selection of
places to eat and drink within easy
walking distance. These are her Best
Places For.....

A great place to go is the newly opened
upstairs at Gastronomy on Ashley Road,
Hale or if you really want a great English
breakfast then the place to go is The
American Bar and Grill on a Sunday.

Business Lunch
Due to the nature of the lingerie
business unfortunately I rarely get involved in business lunches - most of
our buying and socialising within the
industry happens at the lingerie and
swimwear shows in London, the N.E.C.
Birmingham or, occasionally, Paris. If the
need for a business lunch arises then
Earle is a good choice.

I have discovered that Gastronomy do a
great hot chocolate as Im not a great
lover of coffee (not for want of trying!).

A Night out with the Girls
This can vary enormously depending on
the occasion and can be as simple as a
pizza, as oriental as Dee Thai or Man
Zen, or fun at Piccolinos or La Vina.

There are a couple of enjoyable places
to go for cocktails in Hale - the Hale Grill
for a Kir Royale or Piccolinos for a Bellini
- both places have a great atmosphere
and get your evening off to a good start.

Romantic Meal
For me, and Im sure many other women
are the same, an evening of romance
always starts with wearing a beautiful
set of lingerie! The most romantic meal I
have had recently was up in the Lake
District but, once again, there are many
places to go locally especially La
Boheme in Lymm.
