Every year the excitement builds across the North West as the dates for RHS Tatton draw closer, and in 2014 they couldn’t have timed it better, as the Show opened to glorious sunshine and eager crowds.

As usual, the show gardens dazzled and delighted, filling hungry gardeners with inspiration and ideas, liberally peppered with ‘must have’ moments. Gold medallists for our local talent include the best Elements garden, ‘Feel the Wind’, by Joan Mulvella and Andrew Lee and Reeseheath College, who won Gold for their ‘Taste of Wythenshawe’ garden, designed by Reaseheath College foundation degree Garden & Landscape Design Year 2 students.

Ask to choose your favourite garden and you might struggle, the sheer variety of design is extraordinary, but asked to choose your favourite experience...well, that would have to be the bird’s eye view of the Show and Tatton Park from the top of the fabulous Ferris Wheel, created by NAFAS North West, where flowers fill alternate cars and happy Show-goers the rest.
