Celebrities including footballer Sir Bobby Charlton helped the Children's Adventure Farm Trust raise over £100,000 at their 15th annual ball, which was held at The Mere.

The charitys President, Sir Bobby Charlton and his wife, Lady Norma, were joined by patrons Sarah (now Dame Sarah) and Barney Storey, Lee Boardman, Jennifer James, Catherine Manford and Slades Noddy Holder and his wife Suzan. Coronation Street stars Samia Ghadie and Will Thorp, X-Factor winner Shayne Ward and Faye McKeever also attended.
A drinks reception kicked off the evening in style and saxophonist Andor Jensen entertained guests during dinner, creating a mellow ambience. An auction and raffles included some great prizes, including a holiday to the West Indies, and afternoon tea for 12 prepared by former royal chef Ann Ferry from Fondant Florence.
Six guests won bottles of champagne, giant gingerbread house and the star prize of 1,500 worth of jewellery donated by Randalls of Altrincham.
CAFT patrons Sarah Storey and Catherine Manford gave moving speeches, inspiring 28 people to pledge to sponsor a holiday in 2013 for ill, disabled and disadvantaged children at The Adventure Farm, based at Millington, Cheshire.
