What is your opinion of the youth of today? Polite and respectful or do thoughts of drugs, drinking and teenage pregnancy instantly spring to mind? Do you conjure up images of groups of teens hanging around causing trouble?

What is your opinion of the youth of today? Polite and respectful or do thoughts of drugs, drinking and teenage pregnancy instantly spring to mind? Do you conjure up images of groups of teens hanging around causing trouble?

After joining up with the charity G Force, my team and I at Take Two Style School aim to banish all those stereotypes. We took on 18 teenage girls from South Manchesters Broomwood estate with the aim of transforming them from ladettes into ladies.

I have admired G Force and the work they do for a while. I stumbled across a shop they were lent in Altrincham while it was empty. They turned it into a kiddies arts and craft paradise to raise money. That shop is now occupied but G-Force continues to work with children, young people and adults living in disadvantaged communities in South Trafford particularly the Broomwood Estate. They have a trendy caf there which is their HQ for coming up with ideas for helping the community.

Now, as I am no stranger to having to be well-presented and confident in nervewracking situations, I am passing on my experience to teach these girls, over an eight week course, about health and nutrition, personal grooming, social skills, etiquette, confidence, manners and much more.

The girls will also be taught how to apply perfect make-up by top fashion industry make-up artist and my dear friend, Richard Harvey and he will help them achieve the looks by themselves. Hairdresser Adam Bryant from Manchesters Ethos Salon will teach them how to style their hair without the need for hair extensions, straighteners and bleach. Top stylists, The Lilly Styling, will show the girls how to dress to flatter their shapes. Yours truly will show them how to pose like Kate Moss for the perfect picture and how to strut down the catwalk like Tyra Banks.

Sara Lee from G Force says: The girls are having a fantastic time with Take Two. They are learning new skills and you can see their confidence growing by the minute.
The course will finish with a catwalk show at Debenhams in Altrincham and another at the Cresta Court Hotel. This is where the teenagers will show off all the skills and confidence they have acquired.

These girls will need all the support they can get so please come along to cheer them on. Dates are to be confirmed yet, but please check our website for details.
