Sarah Jayne Hall looks forward to Nigel Haworth’s latest venture

I’m very excited to tell you about The Nag’s Head at Haughton, Cheshire. A pub style dining experience with menus created by Michelin star celebrity chef - Nigel Haworth.

Ribble Valley Inns are opening up yet another fine eatery and this one will be in the heart of Cheshire. The Nag’s Head resides in a Grade II listed building which started life in the 17th Century as a local smithy and inn. Currently the space is undergoing restoration. If you decide to visit you can look forward to looking at some original features such as Victorian tiled floors and 17th Century beams.

The pub has a bowling green, kitchen garden, and large al fresco dining space, which will be super for a glass of bubbles in the summer. And for the colder months there are 4 stunning open log fires inside. All occasions and weathers catered for.

There is parking available for customers and there is even a set of horse bays where equestrian diners can park. Nothing and nobody has been forgotten about.

General Manager Darren Gallagher will be looking after this new establishment. His team will be on hand to meet and greet locals, destination diners, tourists, families, dogs and don’t forget horses too!

North West food hero Nigel Haworth has worked with Head Chef Michael Carter to come up with a menu that uses ingredients and supplies from the local area.

Founder and Chef Patron for Ribble Valley Inns, Nigel Haworth commented:

“I can’t wait to open The Nag’s Head in Cheshire. It’s a county that’s got it all… excellent produce, stunning scenery, and buildings steeped in fascinating history. These are all requirements for our vision at Ribble Valley Inns – we’re about delivering the very best, premium food and drink and creating the perfect, original and relaxed environment to enjoy that in. Each site is completely unique, celebrating the character, history and locality, and The Nag’s Head at Haughton will have its own identity that we’re very much looking forward to revealing.”

The Nag’s Head will open on 9th June 2014.
