Working hardWorking hard

s a small, independent, non-selective prep school, we are committed to providing the best all round education in a happy, caring and stimulating environment. For over 100 years, WPS has valued each child as an individual in order to ensure that by the time our pupils leave us at age 11, they have fulfilled their own potential and are confident to move on and enjoy the next stage of their education.

Whilst we uphold those traditional and essential values which are intrinsic to WPS, such as high expectations and good manners, we thrive on being a dynamic school, continually providing a broad, balanced and varied curriculum which ensures that children develop lively, enquiring and creative minds.

Alongside our academic success, the activities offered as part of our extended curriculum at Wilmslow Prep are worthy of highlighting. From our youngest pupils in EYFS to our eldest in Form 6, there are many opportunities for the children to develop their confidence and skills in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, and we are always pleased to see so many children taking part.

Many of our pupils represent WPS in sports, music, drama and art, and it delights us all to see the children stretching and broadening their horizons by taking advantage of all of the exciting opportunities. In music, over 75% of pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 take individual lessons and our choirs and orchestras entertain and inspire us throughout the year at various local festivals, competitions, and events.

In sports, our competitive programme is extensive and the children represent the School in a wide range of sports including netball, hockey, rounders, dance, football and athletics, both locally and nationally.

Our English Speaking Board Assessment results are always outstanding and the children also enjoy great success in both drama and music at local festivals. The standard of our artwork is exceptional and is admired and celebrated in School and at competitions and events throughout the year.

At WPS, the opportunities are endless and we are extremely proud of the children for their hard work and commitment to being the best that they can be, whatever they choose to take part in.

Guiding Wilmslow Prep School is an absolute privilege. My hope for all our pupils is that they enjoy making the most of the inspiring and excellent academic and social opportunities that Wilmslow Prep School offers them.
